Arnaud Lambert Saumur Blanc St Cyr Blanc

The Lambert family run the Estate since its creation by Yves Lambert in 1996. It sits in the picturesq region of Saumur, strong household in the Loire Valley for Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Franc. Arnaud joined the domaine in 2005 and worked hand in hand with his father to elevate the quality of the wines produced. For this reason, they started working their vineyards organically since 2009, which is also the year the pair acquired eight 'Clos' (vineyards enclosed by walls) within the region. Breze, St-Cyr-en-Bourg and Montsoreau are the most sought-after terroirs of Saumur. Working organically was not enough for Yves and Arnaud, so they went into understanding the biodynamic principles and finally applied them in their vineyards since 2018. The vision of Arnaud is poweful: producing wines with purity and precision which is one the main reasons why each cuvee sees separate and different vinification techniques. The 2020 St-Cyr-en-Bourg is a Chenin Blanc from a seventy years old vineyard planted on sand, clay and limestone. Yields are restricted to a mere 40hl/ha, similar to Burgundy's best Grands Crus. The wine spends 24 months in a mix of new and old oak barrels.
